Speedways very own Gentleman Jim! James "Jim Duggan" commenced his Speedway Career in the Geelong, Vic. area in 1960.
Jim competing in the Hot Rod division until 1980 at speedway tracks in Daylesford, Calcium Park, Nyora, Rushworth, and many more.Jim was on the SDAV Inaugural Committee in 1965, and held all Positions throughout the Committee for the next 10 years; Jim became a Life Member in 1975.From 1970 to 1980, Jim Raced at many Speedway tracks including Rushworth, Brooklyn, Newcastle, Canberra, Murray Bridge and ther Bendigo Show grounds. Jim built most of the Hot Rods he raced himself. During these years Jim won an amazing 4 Victorian Hot Rod titles in his No. 39 Hot Rod, Jim was runner up in the New South Wlales Championship on two occasions, and won many country titles, in a highly entertaining and successful Speedway Career.Jim turned to running a Super Saloon Car in 1980, winning many trophies in the division. Jim also raced in the Midget class during the 80's. In 1985, after a very succesful 25 years on the speedway track, Jim retired.But the lure of the mud is still strong, and 25 years later, Jim is now reliving his Speedway Career in the slow lane, demonstrating in the Viintage Speedway division. Jim maintains his high standards, and at the Annual Vintage International Speedway Spectacular weekend in Goulburn 2013, Jim was presented with the Trophy for Best presented Sper Modified.
VINTAGE SUPER MODIFIED: Jim began demonstrating his Vintage Super Modified Sprint Car in 2010. The car was previously raced by Tim Moncref of Tasmania, Barry Guy of Canberra and other. The car was restored by Doog in 2000, and purchased by Jim in 2010. The car runs a 350 Chev,
